When I was first entering the world of Salesforce development, the only education I had for development was in HTML. So when I went to find out how to install and setup the Force.com IDE, MavensMate, Eclipse, I was totally freakin’ lost. I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing and whether or not I had set things up right. Everything I found was written for people that already knew what they were doing, and I had no idea what to do.
That’s why I have created the following install and setup guides for the Force.com IDE, MavensMate, and the Haoide (my personal favorite). In addition, I will be adding how-to guides for each app geared towards #awesomeadmin, with step by step instructions, and without the assumption that the information is just known.
If my instructions are unclear, or you have questions, please let me know. Like I said, I am writing these for admins and others without a development background, to help, not to cause frustration, so if something needs to be modified, let me know.
Use the directions below to learn how to install and setup MavensMate. Once you follow the steps below you will be up and running! Written with #AwesomeAdmin in mind!
When you have a custom domain, it isn’t obvious what you Salesforce instance is. Here is how you can lookup your instance with your custom domain.
Are you two just not working out? Has he been lying to you with bad data? Or have you just outgrown each other? No matter what the reason, things have to end. It’s ok, not all fields are meant to be in Salesforce forever. Don’t rip that bandaid just yet through, these things take time.
